- Launch expected in late 2025
Genesis GV80 Coupe design, specs
We had reported on Genesis’ India entry a few months ago, and the GV80 Coupe’s design patent corroborates this. The GV80 is available in both SUV and coupe-SUV forms; however, only the latter’s design has been patented in India.
The GV80 gets Genesis’ signature crest-shaped grille that's flanked by a twin, horizontal headlamp setup on either side. The twin-lighting setup is seen at the rear as well, and it gets sporty bumpers on both ends. The coupe roofline further enhances its sporty appeal.
Genesis GV80 Coupe powertrain, launch details
The Genesis GV80 is available with three powertrain options overseas: the base 2.5-litre turbo-petrol engine that makes 304hp, a 3.5-litre turbo-petrol engine that puts out 380hp, and the same 3.5-litre paired with a 48V electric supercharger producing 415hp and 549Nm.
Hyundai is yet to confirm the GV80 Coupe’s India launch or Genesis’ entry into the country, but we expect the brand to launch its first product only by the end of 2025. If the GV80 Coupe is brought to India, it will be pitted against the Mercedes GLE, BMW X5 and Audi Q7.
