Hyundai has given its i20 Active cross-hatch a minor facelift. Among the changes made to its exteriors, the highlight of this facelift is its new blue and white dual-tone paint job.
In addition to the paint job, there are other subtle alterations. The radiator grille gets minor design tweaks however, it’s not similar to the latest signature “cascade grille” seen on most of the Hyundai models, nowadays. Other cosmetic changes include a silver finish on the front fog lamps and a black rubber strip on the tip of the boot lid. Meanwhile, the tail-lamp on the Indian-spec car is the same, unlike the European i20 Active facelift.
On the inside, the new touchscreen unit and the hound-tooth pattern on the seat fabric have both been carried over from the recently facelifted Elite i20 – the hatchback which the i20 Active is based on. In turn, it gets new Alps blue interior highlights in a bid to add some more drama to the cabin.
Mechanically, the Hyundai i20 Active remains unchanged. The petrol variants continue to source power from the 83hp, 1.2-litre engine mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. Doing the job in the diesel variants is the 90hp, 1.4-litre CRDi motor mated to a six-speed manual gearbox.
The new i20 Active facelift will be available with a price tag starting at Rs 6.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
