Maruti Suzuki has introduced a new model to its Ertiga MPV line-up. Called the Limited Edition, the model is based on the mid-spec V trim and is available with the same petrol and diesel engine options as the standard Ertiga but gets cosmetic changes outside and in. It is priced at Rs 7.80 lakh for the petrol and Rs 9.71 lakh for the diesel (ex-showroom, Delhi). This makes the Limited Edition about Rs 13-14,000 costlier than the standard V trim.
The exterior of the Ertiga Limited Edition gets three new paint finishes – Exquisite Maroon, Silky Grey, and Superior White – along with a chrome finish on the fog lamp bezel, chrome on the side moulding, alloy wheels, a rear spoiler and ‘Limited Edition’ badges.
On the inside, the Limited Edition model gets new dark red seat covers with white borders, a faux-wood inlay on the centre console, a dual-tone steering cover, a front centre armrest and ambient lighting for the cabin.
The 92hp, 1.4-litre petrol, and 90hp, 1.3-litre diesel engines mated to a five-speed manual are unchanged. The petrol also gets the option of a four-speed automatic gearbox.
Maruti has plans to launch the second-gen Ertiga, which recently debuted in Indonesia, in India by Diwali 2018. The all-new MPV, which is larger than the outgoing model, will also get a new petrol engine at launch – the new K15B 104hp, 1.5-litre four-cylinder unit.
