Mahindra delivers 1 lakh XUV700 SUVs in 20 months

    Mahindra yet to deliver around 78,000 units, with waiting period still at around 13 months for some variants.

    Mahindra has delivered one lakh units of the XUV700 SUV in 20 months since its launch. The first 50,000 units were delivered in 12 months, with the remaining handed over in just eight months. This averages to deliveries of around 5,000 units every month.

    The XUV700, as we've reported before, continues to be in high demand, and at a recent event, the brand confirmed that it has 78,000 open orders for the SUV. It also said that it has increased its production to 8,000 units monthly, to reduce pending order backlog.

    According to dealers, the delivery timeline currently stretches to just over a year – at around thirteen months. The top-spec AX7 and AX7 L variants of the XUV700 have the highest demand, with waiting periods of around 11-13 months, depending on inventory. The MX and AX3 variants have a waiting period of around 6-8 months.

    Mahindra XUV700 powertrain options

    Mahindra offers two engines on the XUV700 – a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol good for 200hp and 380Nm and a 2.2-litre diesel that churns out 155hp and 360Nm on some variants, and 185hp and 420Nm (450Nm with AT) on higher trims. Gearbox options include a six-speed manual or a six-speed torque converter automatic.

    Mahindra XUV700 price and rivals

    The XUV700 gets two seating configurations; the three-row line-up rivals the Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus and Hyundai Alcazar, while the two-row version rivals the Tata Harrier, MG Hector, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Hyundai Creta and the Kia Seltos. The 5-seat version, however, is offered only on the lower and mid-spec variants.
