Maruti Suzuki S-cross reaches 1,00,000 sales mark

The Maruti Suzuki S-cross has achieved the milestone of 1 lakh cumulative sales in India. As we reported earlier, the S-cross was updated recently with rear parking sensors, speed alert system and passenger seat belt reminder, all of which are now standard across the range.

The S-cross crossover was introduced in India in 2015 and was the first model to be sold out of the Nexa showrooms – Maruti’s premium dealerships. Maruti’s flagship product then received a facelift in October 2017 with updated interiors and exteriors.

Speaking on the occasion, R S Kalsi, Senior Executive Director, Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki said, “We are thankful to our customers for their love and positive response. S-Cross has clocked over 16 percent market share in its segment and has helped us delight customers looking for a premium offering from Maruti Suzuki.

The S-cross is available with a solitary 1.3-litre diesel engine which makes 90hp and 200Nm of torque and is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. There is no automatic gearbox on offer. Safety features such as dual-front airbags, ABS with EBD and Isofix child seat mounts at the rear are standard on all variants.

Prices for the S-cross start from Rs 8.85 lakh for the base Sigma trim and go up to Rs 11.45 lakh for the top-spec Alpha variant. Key rivals are the Hyundai Creta and Renault Captur and will include upcoming models like the Tata Harrier and Nissan Kicks.

    Prices are ex-showroom, Delhi
