2022 Maruti Suzuki Brezza: what do we know?
For starters, Maruti will be dropping the ‘Vitara’ prefix from the name. This could be because the carmaker might use this name for its Creta fighter, given that it already offers a larger SUV named the Vitara abroad.
In terms of design, the new Brezza is going to have a heavily updated front and rear end styling, with Maruti even making a number of sheet-metal changes. Up front, the new Brezza will receive a new grille, bumper and headlight design, along with a redesigned clamshell style hood and new front fenders. Given that the new Brezza will use the same platform as the current model, the bodyshell and doors will remain unchanged. Moving to the rear, the updated compact-SUV will feature a restyled tailgate with the number plate housing moved lower down (compared to the current model), Brezza lettering that will sit between the new wraparound taillights and a reprofiled rear bumper with a fax skid plate.
2022 Maruti Suzuki Brezza: interiors and features
Maruti is also going to step up the new Brezza’s equipment list, with the updated SUV set to get features like a sunroof, a larger touchscreen infotainment system, wireless charger, paddleshifters (for automatic variants) and even a sim-based connectivity suite that will add connected features like geofencing, real-time tracking, find your car and intrusion detection. In order to make the new Brezza more upmarket, Maruti will not stop at just improving the features list, but will also look at drastically improving the cabin, and usingd higher plastic quality used all around the new dashboard and cabin layout.
2022 Maruti Suzuki Brezza: expected powertrain
Powering the new Brezza will be the same 1.5-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine with mild-hybrid tech as in the current model (where it puts out 105hp and 138Nm). However, the main change will be that Maruti is expected to improve the efficiency levels of SUV.
2022 Maruti Brezza: expected price and rivals
As the Maruti is looking to make the new Brezza more upmarket, prices for the compact-SUV are also likely to rise. We expect the new Brezza to be priced in the range of Rs 8 lakh-12.5 lakh (ex-showroom). This will also place the new SUV towards the higher end of the compact-SUV segment closer to the Kia Sonet and the Hyundai Venue.
