Tata Motors has launched the Nexon Dark and Nexon EV Dark, with prices starting from Rs 11.45 lakh and Rs 19.49 lakh, respectively. This confirms out report from last month that the launch of the Nexon facelift Dark Edition was imminent.
- Nexon Dark costs about Rs 35,000 more than mid-spec Creative trim
- Nexon EV Dark priced about Rs 20,000 higher than top-spec Empowered + LR
- Harrier and Safari Dark start at Rs 19.99 lakh and Rs 20.69 lakh, each
Tata Nexon Dark: what’s different
It seems like the Nexon Dark will be available on the mid-spec Creative trims and the top-spec Fearless variants, and cost about Rs 35,000 more than the model it is based on. The features list will be identical to the variant on which the Dark edition is based, and Tata says that the top-spec Nexon Dark trims get wireless charging, a ‘hidden’ capacitive touch panel for the automatic climate control, black leatherette seats and more.
The Nexon Dark can be had with all powertrain options – the 1.2-litre turbo-petrol paired with a 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual, 6-speed AMT or 7-speed dual-clutch auto, and the 1.5-litre diesel with the 6-speed manual and AMT options.
Tata Nexon EV Dark: what’s different
Unlike the Nexon Dark, the Nexon.ev Dark seems to be based on the top-spec Empowered + LR trim – not the Nexon.ev MR – and is priced about Rs 20,000 higher. The Nexon.ev LR is powered by a 145hp, 215Nm, 40.5kWh battery pack that has an ARAI-tested range of 465km.
Tata Harrier, Safari Dark: what's new
Tata offered its flagship SUVs with the Dark Editions since their launch last October, but the interesting bit is that prices have not changed in four months. The Harrier Dark is still priced from Rs 19.99 lakh, while the Safari Dark prices start at Rs 20.69 lakh.
The Harrier Dark is available in the mid-spec Pure and Adventure variants, and the top-spec Fearless variant. The Safari, on the other hand, gets it with the mid-tier Pure, Adventure and top-spec Accomplished variants. Both SUVs share the 2.0-litre diesel engine and 6-speed manual and torque converter automatic gearbox options.
