    Diwali discounts on hatchbacks
    Listen to this Article

This festive season, several car dealers are offering attractive discounts and benefits across most of their line-up. These benefits can be enjoyed in the form of cash discounts, exchange bonuses, corporate offers, as well as special festive offers. Here, we have compiled a list of hatchbacks that are available with attractive deals, starting from the lowest, and going to the highest.

Disclaimer: Discounts vary from city to city and are subject to the availability of stock. Please check with your local dealer for exact discount figures.

    Tata Altroz

    Benefits up to Rs 30,000

Tata Motors' premium hatchback can be availed with a total discount of up to Rs 30,000 across most variants, including the CNG one. The most unique thing about the Altroz is that it’s the only hatchback in the country still available with a diesel engine, and this one is the powertrain to pick in the Altroz range. The ride and handling balance and safety are also among the Altroz’s strengths, although rivals have more spacious and better-equipped cabins.

    Tata Tiago

    Benefits up to Rs 40,000

Buyers of the Tiago can avail benefits of up to Rs 40,000 on the hatchback, although the offer is available only with the CNG variants. The Tiago is stylish, is well-equipped for its class, and has a great ride and handling balance, but the lacklustre engine takes away from what is a well-rounded product. The CNG variants, however, do bring in the advantage of economical running, and with its twin-cylinder CNG tank layout, one does not have to compromise too much on boot space.

    Renault Kwid

    Benefits up to Rs 50,000

The once-popular Kwid is now on the slow-seller's list. It now retails with around Rs 50,000 off at most outlets. It’s solely available with a 1.0-litre engine, although it's not quite as refined or peppy as the one on its direct rival, the Alto K10. Its SUV-like ground clearance, attractive styling and decently specced interior, however, still make it a reasonable purchase for first-time car buyers.

    Hyundai i20 N Line

    Benefits up to Rs 55,000

Most Hyundai dealers are offering unsold stock of the pre-facelift i20 N Line with attractive discounts, of around Rs 55,000. It gets unique exterior styling, and its sporty suspension and exhaust note do differentiate it a fair bit from the regular hatchback. The i20 N Line has carved itself a niche in the market as a performance-focused hatchback and, as such, has no direct rivals.

    Maruti Suzuki Baleno

    Benefits up to Rs 55,000

The strong-selling Baleno is seeing some stiff competition from the refreshed i20. In order to push sales further, discounts and benefits of around Rs 55,000 are on offer. The Baleno boasts of best-in-class space and comfort, has a fine ride quality and an efficient petrol engine. The AMT gearbox takes a bit away from the driving experience, but as an overall package for its price, it's arguably the best in its segment.

    Maruti Suzuki Wagon R

    Benefits up to Rs 58,000

Maruti Suzuki is offering a maximum discount of up to Rs 58,000 on both 1.0-litre and 1.2-litre variants of the Wagon R. The Wagon R's strengths are its spacious interior and its peppy and frugal engines. It’s an extremely functional budget car that’s decently equipped, is well-built and is fairly priced too. There are no thrills to be had as such, but it's hard to beat the Wagon R when it comes to practicality.

    Maruti Suzuki Ignis

    Benefits up to Rs 65,000

The Ignis isn’t the typical Maruti hot-seller, but it still garners good interest, and remains the entry-level model for the carmaker’s Nexa line-up. The Ignis is a spacious and efficient hatchback that comes with a 1.2-litre petrol engine. Thanks to its light footprint and compact dimensions, it’s also pretty fun to drive. The Ignis is available with discounts in the range of Rs 65,000 during this festive season.

    Maruti Suzuki Alto K10

    Benefits up to Rs 70,000

Maruti’s smallest model in India continues to be a popular choice for most first-time buyers. The Alto K10 gets a peppy 1.0-litre engine with two gearbox options, and as ever, frugality remains one of its biggest strengths. It’s an incredibly stress-free car that’s easy to live with, easy to drive and cheap to own and run. Discounts up to Rs 70,000 are available.

    Maruti Suzuki Celerio

    Benefits up to Rs 73,000

Buyers of the Celerio can avail maximum discounts of up to Rs 73,000 across both petrol and CNG variants. The 1.0-litre petrol engine makes the Celerio among the most fuel-efficient cars you can buy in the country and it even gets idle start/stop tech. The slightly tall-boy stance of the new Celerio also gives it reasonable space on the inside, but top variants are expensive, and while it is capable, it's not particularly exciting.

    Citroen C3

Benefits up to Rs 1 lakh

The C3 is a spacious hatchback with quirky styling, but misses out on some essential features. The most appealing thing about this hatchback is the driving experience – it has a potent powertrain under its hood and is dynamically sound too. Discounts and benefits in the range of Rs 1 lakh are on offer on all variants.
