At its latest earnings call for Q3 of FY2025, Mahindra announced that it is seeing strong demand for the petrol variants of the XUV 3XO, which account for up to 70 percent of its sales. Mahindra also revealed that 25 percent of XUV 3XO sales are of automatic variants.

  1. XUV3XO gets two petrol and one diesel engine option
  2. Gearbox options include 6-speed MT, AMT and AT
  3. Prices for XUV 3XO range between Rs 7.99 lakh and Rs 15.56 lakh

Mahindra is currently producing about 9,000 units of the XUV 3XO each month, and that is its maximum limit. However, demand is still greater, and speaking to the media, Rajesh Jejurikar, ED and CEO of Mahindra & Mahindra Auto and Farm business, said that they may increase production in the future.

The XUV 3XO is one of the few cars in this segment that still comes with a diesel engine, but the petrol variants being in higher demand is par for the course in this segment. The XUV 3XO comes with two petrol engines – a 111hp, 1.2-litre turbo-petrol and a 131hp, 1.2-litre turbo-petrol – and a 117hp, 1.5-litre diesel engine. Prices for the XUV 3XO range between Rs 7.99 lakh and Rs 15.56 lakh (ex-showroom).

Mahindra XUV 3XO exports to South Africa

Jejurikar also revealed that the company has just started exporting the XUV 3XO to South Africa, where it has been received positively. The company is selling about 700 odd units of the XUV 3XO each month in South Africa, with total monthly exports ranging between 1200 and 1300 units. Given its initial response, Mahindra also had to rationalise volumes between domestic and export sales.
