Hyundai is readying market launches of not one but two heavily updated SUVs. The much-awaited Creta facelift is already being tested in India and Korea, and now first spy shots of the heavily updated Alcazar have also surfaced online. The refreshed Alcazar will go on sale after the market launch of the Creta facelift, which is slated to take place early next year.

    1. Alcazar facelift to have major cosmetic tweaks
    2. Expected to remain mechanically unchanged

Hyundai Alcazar facelift: what will be new

A heavily covered test mule has been spotted and while not much details are visible, the overall silhouette and wheelbase confirm that it’s an Alcazar. The facelift will have fresh looks that will have similar design elements as the upcoming Creta facelift. A split headlamp set-up is expected along with an all-new front grille and bumper. The tailgate will also be redesigned with wraparound style, connected tail-lamps positioned horizontally.

The alloy wheel design seems to be new and there will be sheet metal changes to the front and at the back. Expect an adequate dose of chrome and plastic bits all around in typical Hyundai style to give the SUV a premium look.

While the looks are expected to be inspired by the full-size Hyundai Palisade, there will be some variations in order to differentiate the Creta from the Alcazar.

On the inside, the shades for the dashboard and upholstery will be all-new; feature additions, including ADAS, are expected. There are unconfirmed reports of the presence of a larger touchscreen as well. The Alcazar currently gets a 10.25-inch infotainment screen, which is on par with its rivals, however, the upcoming Safari facelift is expected to get a larger 12.3-inch infotainment screen that made its debut on the top-spec Nexon EV recently.

Hyundai Alcazar facelift: no powertrain changes expected

The Alcazar received the new 160hp, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine recently and also gets a 115hp, 1.5-litre diesel engine from the Creta. Both engines have been recently updated with BS6 Stage II emissions norms. There will not be any powertrain change on the updated Alcazar as such.
