Hyundai Alcazar updated with wireless phone connectivity

The Alcazar is a very well-equipped car, but even in its top Signature trim costing over Rs 20 lakh, it missed out on wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Hyundai has now fixed it with a new wired-to-wireless adapter that fits into the USB A port of the SUV, allowing users access to navigation, music streaming, voice commands and other apps (as allowed by Apple CarPlay and Android Auto) without the need of a cable.

Creta gets wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto on mid-spec trims

This feature has been made available on the Prestige, Premium and Signature trims which come equipped with the dual 10.25-inch screens; the base Executive trim misses out an infotainment system altogether. The Alcazar’s 5-seater sibling, the Creta, also misses out on wireless phone connectivity with variants that are equipped with the dual 10.25-inch screens. Interestingly though, the Creta’s mid-spec variants that are equipped with the smaller 8.0-inch screen do come with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Other notable features on the Alcazar include a panoramic sunroof, powered front seats, ventilated first and second row seats, wireless charging pads for the first and second rows, Bose sound system, dual-zone climate control, on-board navigation, 360-degree camera, six airbags, and an ADAS suite.

There's also a 116hp, 1.5-litre diesel mill that's offered with either a 6-speed manual and 6-speed AT gearbox. As standard, the Alcazar is available in a 7-seat configuration; a 6-seat layout is optional extra on top-spec Platinum and Signature trims.
