Maruti Suzuki is offering higher discounts and benefits across its line-up in order to clear unsold stock. In a recent interaction, Shashank Srivastava, senior executive director, sales and marketing, Maruti Suzuki, said that while the inventory levels are between 30-35 days, it is expected to come down significantly by December end, due to aggressive schemes offered by manufacturers.
"Sales promotions will be higher in December and depending on model to model, one is likely to see higher discounts,” said Srivastava.

Maruti Nexa discounts: December 2023
We can confirm that Maruti Suzuki has told its dealer fraternity to be aggressive to clear unsold inventory. The biggest offer this month from Maruti is on the Jimny, with prices reduced by up to Rs 2 lakh on both variants. Additionally, Maruti has also introduced a Jimny Thunder Edition in order to increase the niche SUV’s customer appeal. Some dealers tell us that the Thunder Edition kit is also being provided free of cost at some outlets to push sales. This increases the total discount to a whopping Rs 2.3 lakh for the entry-level Jimny Zeta.
Additionally, newly launched models like the Fronx also get discounts of up to Rs 40,000 on some variants. The Fronx is based on the Baleno and is averaging sales of around 11,000 units a month since launch. What’s more, the popular Grand Vitara SUV, which is Maruti’s rival to the Creta and Seltos, is also being offered with benefits of around Rs 25,000-35,000, depending on the variant. This also includes some variants of the fuel-sipping Grand Vitara Hybrid. Other Maruti Nexa models like the Ciaz, Baleno and Ignis are also being offered with discounts in the range of Rs 35,000-65,000, depending on model and inventory.
Maruti Arena discounts: December 2023
On the Arena side, Maruti dealers have been told to push sales of models like the Swift CNG, which now gets a special exchange bonus as well; total discounts now go up by Rs 25,000 compared to the last month. The brand has also increased discounts on the Alto K10 (Rs 52,000-63,000), which includes benefits on the CNG-powered model. The S Presso high-riding hatchback is now being offered with discounts of around Rs 56,000, while the popular Wagon R gets year-end benefits up to Rs 63,000, depending on the variant.
Even the Maruti Eeco is being offered with benefits of up to Rs 35,000 this month. The Celerio gets discounts of around Rs 70,000 on some variants, while the popular Dzire compact sedan – the one with the lowest year-end discount on offer right now – has no official discount. However, dealers offer some benefits on the Dzire CNG, which has a long waiting period. Additionally, a few dealers we spoke to are providing Rs 20,000 worth CNG fuel card to buyers of select Maruti models. This scheme was first introduced around Diwali this year, but it's been extended till December 31.
No discounts on Ertiga and Brezza
The Ertiga has been Maruti’s blockbuster MPV since its launch and the brand has announced that it has around 67,000 pending orders for the MPV. Another popular model from Maruti, the Brezza, currently has a long order backlog, with no discounts on the Brezza petrol; the Brezza CNG has benefits of around Rs 20,000 though.
