The Hyundai Creta N Line is the carmaker’s third N Line model since the sub-brand was introduced in India in September 2021 – the i20 N Line was the first to arrive followed by the Venue N Line in September 2022. Hyundai Motor India says that it is witnessing growing demand for its performance-oriented N Line models, contributing over 20 percent of the company’s overall turbo-petrol powertrain volumes.

    Hyundai N Line sales volume

Cumulative sales of the i20 N Line and Venue N Line have exceeded 22,000 units and contributed to over 20 percent of the company’s overall turbo-petrol powertrain volumes. That’s a reasonable share in just two and a half years, especially given the history of such performance sub-brands in India – just look at Tata’s JTP or Fiat’s Abarth.

Tarun Garg, chief operating officer, Hyundai India, said, "N Line is not about volumes, it is about taking care of customers who represent young India." He added that, “at 13 percent, women N Line buyers cross the average women buyer consumer base in India's passenger vehicle market.”

“Moreover, the N Line buyer is completely different, and almost 82 percent of them prefer choosing the top-spec variant,” Garg said. The carmaker says that the sporty derivatives of some of its mainstream models are giving it a competitive edge, drawing discerning buyers who value performance and driving dynamics.

    What’s drawing in the numbers?

Perhaps what’s helping bring in the numbers are their value quotient. The N Line models get genuine performance upgrades – a sportier suspension setup, retuned steering dynamics and even sportier exhausts – all of which add up to make the N Line models drive quite differently from the regular models.

And the asking price isn’t too high either. For instance, the Venue N Line is just Rs 50,000 more expensive than its regular counterparts and the Creta N Line’s introductory price is just Rs 30,000 more than its corresponding regular variant.
