I am planning to go in for the Kia Sonet diesel automatic, or any other diesel automatic in the Rs 15 lakh range. I really liked the new Honda City hybrid, however, that’s out of my budget for now. Are there any upcoming hybrid cars within this budget or shall I go ahead with Sonet?

Autocar India says: While the Sonet won’t give you the same efficiency as a City hybrid or the joy of silent electric-only driving, Kia’s SUV in diesel AT form is the best compact SUV you can buy today. In fact, the Sonet diesel is smoother and faster than the 1.0-litre turbopetrol Sonet too. The only issue with it is the lack of rear seat space, but if you are planning to drive it yourself we suggest you go right ahead.
