Keeway has just launched its fourth product in the Indian market, the V302C bobber, priced from Rs 3.89 lakh to Rs 4.09 lakh. Just like the smaller K-Light 250V, this motorcycle features a V-Twin engine configuration, which isn’t a common sight these days.

Keeway V302C: powertrain, underpinnings and features

The V302C is powered by a 298cc, V-Twin liquid-cooled engine making 29.5hp at 8,500rpm and 26.5Nm of torque at 6,500rpm. Mated to this V-Twin engine (uncommon configuration for the category) is a 6-speed gearbox.

Suspending this 167kg machine is a telescopic fork at the front with 120mm of travel and twin shock absorbers at the rear with a scant 42mm of travel. Stopping duty is handled by a 300mm disc at the front and a 240mm disc at the rear. The V302C bobber runs on cast alloy rims at both ends, with tyres sized 120/80-16 at the front and 150/80-15 at the rear.

In terms of features, the V302C sports fully-digital instrumentation, dual-channel ABS, all-LED lighting, a single-piece seat and a 15-litre fuel tank. A unique feature on the V302C is the presence of a belt final drive as seen on larger machines, as opposed to the chain final drive usually found on machines in this price bracket.

    Keeway V302C: pricing and rivals

With the Rs 3.89 lakh price tag the V302C commands, it sits in a niche of its own and has no real rivals to speak of. It does plug a hole, sitting between the Rs 2.25 lakh Benelli Imperiale 400 and the Rs 5.2 lakh Benelli 502C cruiser. The V302C bobber is available in three colour options, grey (Rs 3.89 lakh), black (Rs 3.99 lakh) and red (Rs 4.09 lakh).

Going forward, Keeway has plans to introduce four more models before this year ends, two of which will be retro street classics, one sporty naked and one sporty motorcycle. In addition to the V302C, Keeway’s India line-up also comprises the Vieste 300 maxi-scooter, Sixties 300i retro-styled cruiser and the Keeway K-Light 250V cruiser.

All prices mentioned are ex-showroom, Delhi.
