Just last month, Italian brand Moto Morini announced that it would make its Indian debut this year in partnership with Adishwar Auto Ride India (AARI). Now, the company has confirmed that its product line-up in India will include four 650cc motorcycles, namely the X-Cape 650, X-Cape 650X, Seiemmezzo 6 ½ Retro Street and Scrambler. Read on to know more about them.

    Moto Morini X-Cape 650, X-Cape 650X: what are they?

    The Moto Morini X-Cape 650X.

The X-Cape line consists of Moto Morini’s adventure tourer motorcycles. Both the 650 and 650X, are powered by the same 649cc, liquid-cooled, inline twin engine that puts out 60hp at 8,250rpm and 54Nm at 7,000rpm through a 6-speed gearbox.

Suspension on both ADV’s is a fully adjustable 50mm Marzocchi USD fork up front, and a preload and damping adjustable KYB monoshock at the rear. Both also feature a 7-inch TFT display, LED headlight, Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tyres, Brembo brakes with Dual Channel ABS, a large 18-litre fuel tank and a ground clearance of 175mm. The tyres are 110/80-19 up front and 150/70-17 at the rear, while the brakes are dual 298mm discs at the front and a single 255mm disc at the rear.

The key difference between the X-Cape 650 and X-Cape 650X is that the former has an 810mm seat height and gets alloy wheels, while the latter has an 835mm seat height and features wire-spoke wheels. Once launched here, expect the Moto Morini X-Cape models to rival the recently updated Kawasaki Versys 650, Triumph Tiger Sport 660 and Suzuki V-Strom 650XT.

Moto Morini Seiemmezzo 6 ½ Retro Street, Scrambler: more details

    The Moto Morini Seiemmezzo Scrambler.

Moto Morini’s Seiemmezzo 6 ½ range includes the retro street (called STR abroad) and scrambler (called SCR) models. Like the X-Capes, these models are also powered by 649cc, liquid-cooled, inline twin engines, but they put out a lesser 55hp and the same 54Nm as the ADVs.

Both Seiemmezzo models get a round, full-LED headlight, a 5-inch TFT screen, a 43mm USD fork up front, monoshock at the rear, 170mm ground clearance, a fuel tank of 15.5 litres, dual-channel ABS, seat height of 795mm and a 120/70-18 front and 160/60-17 rear tyre. The differences between both is that the scrambler runs on wire-spoke wheels instead of the alloys on the retro street model and gets a beak-style front mudguard and a small tinted windscreen.

While Moto Morini has confirmed the models, a launch timeframe is yet to be announced. Expect more details to filter through on that in the coming weeks.
