MV Agusta to appoint new partner in India

Early this year, it was rumoured that the MV Agusta had severed ties with MotoRoyale Kinetic - the official sales and service partner of the exotic Italian brand in India. We had reached out to both parties for a statement but received no confirmation on the matter.

However, MV Agusta recently put out a video on its Instagram page where its CEO, Timur Sardarov answered some questions. One of them was about its presence in India, to which he responded saying, "We broke our ties with MotoRoyale as there was constant misinterpretation of the contract. And we didn’t think they represented us in the right way. We are right now appointing a new partner to work with us.”

There’s still no indication on who the new partner is or when this tie-up will come into existence. That said, MV Agusta’s line-up is still only Euro4-compliant, meaning it doesn’t comply with the BS6 norms in India. As we understand it, the company will update its line-up to Euro 5 regulations in a phased manner but that's only expected to happen by the end of the year – the Euro 5 regulations only kick in on January 1, 2021, for its existing products. Considering that the bikes will make their way here only once they’ve been updated, it will be a while before a new MV Agusta is sold in India.
