Jaguar will stop building the popular F-Type at the end of next year, bringing an end to 75 years of petrol-powered Jaguar sportscars – a lineage that stretches back to the record-breaking XK120.

    • Jaguar F-Type went on sale in India back in 2013
    • Gets three powertrain options globally
    • F-Type 75 will only get the 450hp V8 in India

Jaguar F-Type: on sale globally since 2013

The F-Type made its global debut in 2013 as a replacement to the XK and was launched in India in the same year; its facelift came to our country in 2020. Now, into its final production year, the sportscar will be offered globally with the choice of a 300hp four-cylinder or two 5.0-litre supercharged V8s, one with 450hp and the other (in the F-Type R) with 575hp.

    Jaguar F-Type 75: what’s different?

The more potent, firmed-up V8 versions will be badged 'F-Type 75' for the final year of production, with an array of special features to set them apart from the standard car – although the latter will no longer be available with either V8 engines. This includes commemorative badging, gloss black wheels, Windsor leather performance seats and bespoke interior decorations. A unique Giola Green paint option will also be available.

This is similar to the Land Rover Defender 75 which was unveiled last month by parent company Jaguar Land Rover. As with the Defender, it’s the same F-Type underneath as the one currently on sale, with double wishbone suspension all around, and sticky rubber in the form of specially developed Pirelli P Zero tyres.

    Jaguar F-Type 75: delivery timeline

Deliveries of the F-Type 75 will begin in January 2023 for international markets. For India, the brand will retail the F-Type 75 with the 450hp V8 in either coupe or convertible bodystyles. However, the brand has not revealed India pricing for the special edition of the F-Type yet.

When the run is complete, Jaguar’s range will consist of the F-Pace, E-Pace, XF and XE until a trio of all-electric crossovers arrive from 2025.
