    3. Features minor updates

New Bentley Flying Spur: powertrain, specs

Powering the new Flying Spur is a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine with plug-in hybrid tech. The powertrain puts out a combined 782hp - 147hp higher than the outgoing W12 engine. It has a peak torque output of 1,000Nm, and can go from 0-100kph in just 3.5 seconds. The engine is mated to an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Thanks to the 25.9kWh battery, the Flying Spur also offers a 76km electric-only range which can be used up to the speeds of 140kph. The battery can be charged in under 3 hours with 11kW peak charging power. The Flying Spur Speed gets a Bentley Performance Active Chassis, with Bentley Dynamic Ride and an all-wheel steering wheel.

New Bentley Flying Spur: exterior, interior design

On the outside, the new Flying Spur gets subtle styling tweaks such as a larger grille, revised front and rear bumpers, a new rear diffuser and new 22-inch alloy wheels. Interior updates include a new diamond quilt pattern on seats, and 3D diamond hide on doors and B pillars. It also gets Bentley’s Wellness seating, with postural adjustment and seat auto climate control for all four seats.

It also gets the signature Bentley Rotating Display with the choice of a 12.3-inch touchscreen, three analogue dials, or an unbroken side of handcrafted veneer. The Flying Spur is equipped with a 10-speaker 650W sound system, while a Naim 2,200W, 19-speaker system with Active Bass Transducers is an optional extra. Needless to say, buyers can customise the Flying Spur with tons of exterior and interior colour options and materials to choose from.

New Bentley Flying Spur: India launch details, expected price

The new Bentley Flying Spur is expected to go on sale in India next year, and will likely carry a higher price tag than its predecessor. While it will have no direct rivals, the Flying Spur will go up against the Rolls-Royce Ghost and the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class.
