Porsche is set to expand its network in India and will do so with its current dealer partners. The company has today six dealerships and will work with them to expand the Porsche network in India.

    • Will prioritise expansion with current dealer partners
    • VW Group dealers will also likely be a part of expansion plans

Speaking to Autocar India at the newly inaugurated Infinity Cars Mumbai showroom, Manolito Vujicic, brand head for Porsche India, said “We have six dealer partners and rather than add (new partners) we want to help them expand their presence and go to satellite cities with an easier format.”

Interestingly, Porsche is also exploring the possibility of leveraging the service network of VW Group brands to increase its service spread across the country. “We are VW Group, so we can and we will also use the group’s existing service network to expand our footprint”. He further added “we have identified white spaces all around the country and we are drawing up plans to address these”.

While there will be bits to work out, leveraging VW Group dealerships will not be too difficult a task, given that a lot of systems and process are common, as are some vehicle platforms. Moreover, the Audi brand network will already be familiar with handling customers of a similar profile.

The move will be a win-win, with customers benefitting from a wider network, while dealers would see additional income helping profitability, which according to Manolito is one of his top priorities. “We have to keep our people happy, as only then can you have good customer service and true customer satisfaction” he added.
