Tata Tiago XT(O) launched at Rs 5.48 lakh

The Tata Tiago has a new XT(O) trim now on sale, positioned below the mid-spec XT variant. Priced at Rs 5.48 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the new variant costs Rs 15,000 less than the Tiago XT and misses out on some kit.

    • New Tata Tiago XT(O) misses out on 2DIN audio head unit
    • Comes equipped with speakers and steering mounted controls
    • Available solely as a manual variant

Tata Tiago XT(O): what does it get?

While most variants ending with (O) tend to signify some additional kit over the standard variant, the XT(O) trim on the Tiago means the opposite. Compared to the Tiago XT, the XT(O) does not get the Harman 2DIN head unit for the audio system, though the car still comes with 4 speakers and steering mounted controls

For the most part, the XT(O) is otherwise identical to the Tiago XT, meaning you get bits like 14-inch wheels with full wheel covers, a 12V power outlet up front, manual AC, power windows front and rear, electric adjust wing mirrors, central locking, dual airbags, ABS and rear parking sensors.

Tata Tiago XT(O): engine and gearbox

The XT(O) is available solely with a 5-speed manual gearbox, with the Tiago AMT available from the XTA variants up. Power comes from a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine that’s good for 86hp and 113Nm of torque.

    Tata Tiago: rivals

In terms of its competition, the Tata Tiago goes up against the Maruti Suzuki Celerio, Wagon R, Hyundai Santro and the Datsun Go.
