If you are planning on buying the recently unveiled 2018 Maruti Suzuki Swift, get ready for a potentially long wait. The yet-to-be-launched Swift already has a waiting period of six to eight weeks, as reported by most dealers who also said that it is likely to go up to four months due to a relentless increase in bookings.
While dealers began accepting orders earlier, Maruti officially opened bookings on January 17 against an amount of Rs 11,000.
What’s interesting is that it’s the AMT-equipped variant of the Swift that is seeing a higher demand, accounting for 65 percent of total bookings. The option of Auto Gear Shift (AGS) is available on the VXi/VDi and ZXi/ZDi variants. Maruti has added two new colours to the Swift range – Prime Lucent Orange and Midnight Blue.
Maruti is gearing up to launch the Swift at the upcoming Auto Expo 2018, and is expected to cost Rs 15,000 more than the outgoing model.
